DAR Sports: NFL Week 9 Preview

Here we go again, back at it with our week 9 predictions and preview. After a pretty crazy week that saw a great Giants and Saints game as well as a solid Colts and Panthers OT contest, we look at this upcoming week. Let's get right into it.

@SpeedOnTheBeat
SEE! Told you when you bet on black and purple, you'll eventually get that W. Now, while Steve Smith, Sr. is out for the rest of the season with an ACL injury, you'll probably (finally) get me to prattle on about the rest of the league's shenanigans.
Ok, so I was wrong about the Bengals and the Packers. Sue me. However, this week's slate of games, if you're a gambling man, may be a bit easier to plop some cash down on.

*The Bengals will win against the Browns.
-Cleveland just doesn't have it figured out yet. That was clear in their come-from-behind-loss to the Cardinals (who I thank, because they're keeping my hopes at winning something from my job's Pick 'Em pool alive).

*The Dolphins will take out the Bills.
-Tyrod Taylor's injury is still going to be a critical factor in this one. Plus, the Bills just lost to the Jaguars for Pete's sake. Like, c'mon man! Aside from, sadly, the Ravens and the Lions, the Jaguars were a sad sack team that everyone would--and should--usually bet against.

*The Panthers are staying undefeated against the Packers
-Cam Newton has been on a tear. Meanwhile, Aaron Rodgers kind of got schooled against the Broncos. That sort of butt-whuppin' sticks around for a week or two. Trust me.

*The Jaguars take out the Jets in an upset.
-The Jets lost to an upstart Raiders team this past week and the Jaguars are probably going to be riding the high of beating Buffalo in hopes to salvage their season in some way, shape, or form.

*The Vikings eke out a win against the Rams because of Stefon Diggs.
-Believe the hype. Now, notice something. He's playing with an alright QB and putting up stellar numbers. Kind of reminds me of his days at Maryland. In that case, why do I say the Vikings eke out a W? Well, when the run game's taken away from them, Teddy Bridgewater tries to do too much. Sometimes, that works (see Stefon Diggs' "catch of the year"). Sometimes, it doesn't (see when Bridgewater threw to Diggs and got picked off this past week). So, if they can keep the run game going, they're gravy. If not...ehhhhh...

*The Patriots fall to the Redskins.
-Don't ask me why I feel this is about to happen. But, I feel it. We're going to get a major upset this week.

*The Saints, fresh off their shootout, keep the momentum going.
-Remember when people were saying Marcus Mariota was going to lead Tennessee to the Promised Land, like a young Steve McNair? Well, Mariota's been injured these past two games and his last couple games, pre-injury, he wasn't that great (let's be honest).

*Raiders win.
-Screw the Steelers. That is all.

*Giants win.
-There's no way in hell Eli's going to just say "oh, hey. I threw for a buttload of touchdowns last week. Screw doing anything this week." Nah, son.

*Falcons beat the Niners.
-Torrey Smith Should've Stayed In Baltimore and #TheRavensShouldvePaidTorreyToStay. That is all. Plus Colin is benched. No chance now.

*Colts win.
-After pushing Carolina to the brink (and nearly winning), Andrew Luck finally finds his rhythm--and saves Chuck Pagano for another week.

*Cowboys win.
-Let's hope Dez Bryant can keep his head

*Bears win.
-I'll be honest. This game could lose to RAW in the ratings category. Both teams have two wins. Neither team has had that much luck go their way. Plus, not too many people care about either team this year--and that was before the season started. Too bad the Chargers can't get their own personal Derwin Davis (and yes, I did just reference The Game) and, ya know, "win baby win." Maybe next year, Girl Melanie.
