DAR Sports: NFL Wild Card Round Preview

The NFL playoffs are upon us. With first round byes for the Carolina Panthers, Arizona Cardinals, Denver Broncos, and New England Patriots, the wild card round is sure to be interesting. After a strange 2nd half of the season, a few teams missed the playoffs like the once undefeated Atlanta Falcons, the New York Jets, and a few others. With the games kicking off this coming weekend, we gathered the team to discuss. Let's get into it.

NFC WILD CARD

6. Seattle Seahawks vs 3. Minnesota Vikings

@DFkinLopes_
This will be a good game, as both sides are solid, but the Vikings will take the W though.

Winner: Vikings

@_Oh_Bee
I believe the Seahawks will try their hardest to redeem themselves. We'll never forget what happened on what was supposed to be another Super Bowl win. With Russell Wilson on fire and the Legion of Boom making noise, this game will be fun to watch. On the other hand, I'm very impressed with Teddy Bridgewater. Adrian Peterson will exceed 1,500 yards this weekend despite missing a year. We're going to see a lot of physicality and I'm excited about it.

Winner: Seattle

@ShokusApollo
Seattle has awaken the last month of the season and I think they are in prime position to face Carolina in the 2nd round. I won't sleep on Minnesota, but Teddy Bridgewater isn't ready yet, but I think he will have a breakout game.

Winner: Seattle

@MIGHTYTRAPLORD_
I have to go with the Seahawks. Seattle has a bigger advantage over the Vikings.

Winner: Seattle

@TrueGodImmortal
Smart money says to bet on the Seahawks I'm sure. However, I have faith in the Vikings and I want to see AP get at least one playoff win this season and this will be it. It will be a close game, but the Vikings will win.

Winners: Vikings (24-21)

5. Green Bay Packers vs 4. Washington Redskins

@DFkinLopes_
This will be an upset, Washington will pull this off in a close one to upset the Packers.

Winner: Redskins

@_Oh_Bee
Aaron Rodgers has struggled the last few games, but we all know that he comes alive in the playoffs. No one could have imagined that Kirk Cousins would lead the Washington Redskins to become the NFC East Champions, but here we are. His chemistry with DeSean Jackson has been electrifying. There are two factors that gives the Packers an edge - Eddie Lacy and the chip on their shoulder. I see Green Bay leaving with the win.

Winner: Packers

@ShokusApollo
As bad as Green Bay looks, they still have Aaron Rodgers. As good as Cousins looks, I think the spotlight is too much for him right now. Green Bay will advance to the 2nd round.

Winner: Packers

@MIGHTYTRAPLORD_
Simply put, the Redskins are trash. And the Packers will expose that.

Winner: Packers

@TrueGodImmortal
I can't see the Packers losing here, despite the fact that the Redskins are stepping up as the season winds down. The Packers will pull a victory out here, but I have a feeling it won't be pretty. Another close one.

Winner: Packers (27-20)

AFC WILD CARD

6. Pittsburgh Steelers vs 3. Cincinnati Bengals

@DFkinLopes_
This is the game to watch, the Steelers are looking great. They started off bad, but now they're just tearing shit up. And vice versa for Cincinnati.

Winner: Steelers

@_Oh_Bee
The Steelers had a rough start at the beginning of the season. They switched out quarterbacks like we change clothes, but they've kept the ball rolling. The Bengals made quiet strides as well. For a while they stood undefeated. But I'm not sure if AJ McCarron is quite prepared for this beastly defense.

Winner: Steelers

@ShokusApollo
Pittsburgh vs Cincinnati...This is a tough matchup, but the Steelers got the better of them the last time they played. If Andy Dalton was playing I would have the Bengals barely winning, but they don't, so they wont. Ben just needs to not force the ball to Antonio Brown and cut down the interceptions. I don't think Pittsburgh has a good secondary and can be exposed, but they do just enough to beat Cincinnati.

Winners: Steelers

@MIGHTYTRAPLORD_
I'm going to go with the Steelers. Since when have we ever trusted the Bengals in the first round?

Winner: Steelers

@TrueGodImmortal
No faith in the Bengals. If Dalton was playing, that might be different. Granted, the Steelers could implode here as well, but I see AB having a big game and finishing with a couple of TDs. Steelers advance.

Winner: Steelers (34-17)

4. Houston Texans vs 5. Kansas City Chiefs

@DFkinLopes_
This won't be a very good game. KC is just too hot of a team right now to be stopped by a team like Houston.

Winner: Chiefs

@_Oh_Bee
I'll probably only watch this match up for the love of the game. The Houston Texans are currently under the leadership of quarterback Brandon Weeden and the ever stable JJ Watt. I respect the Chiefs because they're not to be slept on. I can't say that I completely trust Weeden due to his performance in Dallas. Plus, this Kansas City defense has consistently made statement after statement. I don't see Houston walking away with the win.

Winner: Chiefs

@ShokusApollo
KC will win this matchup. They hardly turn the ball over and that is a great recipe in the playoffs. With JJ with a broken hand and Clowney in a walking boot, I don't see the Texans defense being as stout as they hoped. I also don't trust Brian Hoyer. KC should break their playoff loss streak.

Winner: Chiefs

@TrueGodImmortal
This is going to be a one team game. The Chiefs are stronger than ever, ready to win and they have a strong case to make for getting to the AFC Championship and the Super Bowl. The Chiefs are the team to watch out for. They will defeat the Texans easily.

Winner: Chiefs (33-10)
